6th November 2018
We had a fantastic launch for our new topic, Desert Island Survival. The children were all able to take part in a Den Building Day where they participated in a series of challenges, culminating in their den being tested for survival in all weathers. Everyone had a brilliant day which was rounded off with fire lighting and toasting marshmallows.
Currently we are working on an extended piece of writing around surviving on a deserted island. At the end of the term we will be participating in a survival challenge day.
Homework, reading and spelling:
We send homework home every Friday. Please complete and return for the following Friday. For this half term we have an extended project. The final piece is due in by Friday 14th December.
Children are required to bring their book bag to school everyday with their book and reading record, as we read with them daily.
It is important that you listen to your child read. We like to encourage children to read both at school and at home. Children receive a certificate when they have reached a milestone for the amount of times they have read. The first target is Ready Reader.
New spelling are given out on Mondays and children are tested the following Monday. Please practice these at home with your child.
