Year 3 having been making their christingles ready for the christingle service at Middleton St Mary's Church on Tuesday 13th December. We have been thinking about what each part of the christingle represents and what this special time of year means to Christians.
Baking for Children in Need 2016
Year 3 having been very busy this week baking lots of buns to sell on Friday 18th November for children in Need. On Wednesday afternoon we made a hundreds of sponge fairy cakes and Thursday afternoon we made chocolate rice krispie cakes. We all had a lot of messy fun!
Remembrance Day 2016
Year 3 have spent some learning about Remembrance Day and it's significance. We spoke about why we wear the poppy and adhere to a 2 minute silence. During the afternoon we took part in some art and crafts to support our learning. We made thumb print poppy pictures and salt-dough poppies! We had lots of fun!
Vicious Volcanoes and Earth-shattering Earthquakes
This half term we have been learning about volcanoes and earthquakes! We know how volcanoes are formed and what happens to make them errupt. We also learnt all about what causes an earthquake and the terrible effect these can have. We even had a go at making our own volcano in the playground! We have really enjoyed this topic and have had lots of fun.
