Welcome to the Reception page - we will regularly update this with exciting things that are going on in Reception or information that you may need to know. If you can't find the information you are looking for please don't hesitate to come and talk to a member of our wonderful Reception team.
In Reception, we are using Tapestry to 'capture' our children's learning. Tapestry is an easy-to-use online learning journal which helps school and parents/carers to record, track and celebrate children' progress in early years education.
Log on to see your child's profile - photos, videos and written comments and don't forget to add your own - we love to see what our children are doing at home too! Please email us if you need them in a different format or you are having any issues with Tapestry.
We will share highlights of some of our learning below!
We have opportunities to write in all our areas of provision! Sometimes we write in our writing books and use the sounds we know to make lists or begin to write sentences. In the spring and summer we can make a list of all the minibeasts we can see!
Sometimes we work in our Maths books to explore numbers below 10. We look at how the number is formed and the kinds of places we might have seen the number. We represent the number in different ways.
Often we develop children's writing and story telling skills by scribing the words and ideas they tell us and giving them the opportunity to start writing letters of their own.
